Ecuador, though one of the smallest countries in South America, is also ranked among the world's most biologically and culturally diverse. From the pristine beaches of the tropical Pacific coast to the snowcapped peaks of the high Andes to the dense rainforests of Amazonia, and the extraordinary Galapagos Islands, there is something for everyone in this beautiful, undiscovered treasure. Ecuador is a vibrantly multicultural society. Mestizos, dozens of indigenous peoples, AfroEcuadorians and descendants of Dutch colonists are all part of Ecuador's rich ethnic tapestry. The country has two official languages: Spanish and Quechua.
We offer CELTA courses throughout the year in our dedicated teacher training center located in a quaint, unspoilt part of the Ecuadorian coast. You have the opportunity to get your CELTA certification at a site of great natural beauty, enjoy the many and diverse attractions of the surrounding area, and learn how to teach English with our delightful local volunteer students!
From time-to-time we also run a CELTA course in Guayaquil and in Quito. Guayaquil is the steamy maritime port and second city. A billion dollar renovation project has tranformed what was a rough and tumble port town into a thriving tropical metropolis. The restored old town of Las Peñas and its graceful riverfront parks and botanical gardens border a bustling modern business centre, the heart of Ecuador's booming economy and host to many international conferences and trade shows.
Guayaquil is the counter-balance to Quito which is the capital city situated in the High Andes. Quito’s historic centre was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its uniquely preserved colonial architecture which is considered to be the finest in all of South America. A five thousand year history of human settlement, its stunning position surrounded by the snowcapped peaks of the Andes, and lively cultural and intellectual scene combine to make this former capital of the Incan Empire one of the most sought after destinations in the world.
